RE:       Discount to meet NY State Requirements for Office Based Surgery/Office Based Procedures Certification.

As a participating provider in MagnaCare’s network, you are eligible for a 20% discount on the annual accreditation fees from the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF). This significant savings for annual accreditation fees will be in effect for as long as you remain a MagnaCare provider.

Why is this important to you? New York State Public Health Law § 230 d requires that physicians using moderate or deep sedation to perform procedures in an office based setting must have their practices accredited by July 2009. Don’t delay! Now is the time to apply for accreditation with the added value of a deep discount on annual fees.

To be in compliance with New York law and to continue to receive reimbursement and to be listed as an office based provider of surgical/endoscopy services after July, 2009, members must have their facilities accredited. MagnaCare has partnered with AAAASF to provide accreditation in a cost effective manner.

In order to take advantage of this offer in a timely fashion, AAAASF is mailing a packet of information to all MagnaCare providers complete with the application for accreditation, along with AAAASF’s current surgical standards. AAAASF is in the process of finalizing procedure standards designed for endoscopy, urology, and fertility clinics. These standards will be sent to you as soon as they are completed in mid April.
