Joseph Berardo, Jr.

Chief Executive Officer and President

A seasoned Health Plan Executive, Mr. Berardo has been the CEO and President of MagnaCare since June of 2005. In this capacity, he is responsible for the Strategic Management and Financial Performance of MagnaCare's business operations. Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Berardo served as the Vice President, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer when he joined MagnaCare in January of 2003. He started his career in healthcare management with U.S. Healthcare where he served in various Sales and Management positions. Subsequently, he has held Senior Leadership positions with the Mt. Sinai Health System, Empire Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Multiplan and Special Risk International. Recognized by Crain's New York Business magazine in January 2000 as one of the Top 40 Executives in New York under the age of 40 (40 under 40). Mr. Berardo is a Graduate of Rutgers University with a BA in Economics. He is an active member of several industry organizations including SIIA, NAHU, and IFEBP. He is also a Board member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

 

Terry Beach

Senior Vice President, Operations

Terry’s been with us since June 2002. Since she arrived, she has served as Manager of Credentialing, Director of Credentialing, Medical Delivery Systems, and Central Operations. In December 2008, she became our Vice President of Operations, a role that gives her responsibility for all aspects of operational performance and efficiencies including Customer Service, Provider Service, Claims, Data Integrity, and Training & Quality.

Arun Bhatia

Senior Vice President, Information Systems

Arun has been on our team since October 2003, and takes care of MagnaCare’s Enterprise Processing systems, infrastructure and technology platforms so that we can meet and exceed our customer’s needs.

His resume includes:

• Electronics Engineering degree with specialization in Computer Science, from the University of Dehli, India
• Attended management programs at the University of Phoenix, Arizona
• Worked for several major Healthcare, Property & Casualty Insurance, Financial industries, including: Oxford Health Plans, Hartford Insurance Group, McKesson, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC)

Catherine Marino, MD, FACP, FACR

Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Marino has been with us since December of 2002, and she is in charge of the network’s medical management, physician performance and utilization review.

Her resume includes:

• MD degree from SUNY at Brooklyn.
• BA in Biology from Fordham University, Masters in Health Administration from Hofstra University.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
• Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Jim Cusumano

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Jim joined us back in 2003 as Controller and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in December 2006. He is responsible for financial planning and analysis, business performance reporting and risk management functions.

Matthew Fienman

Senior Vice President of Medical Economics and Chief Actuary

Matt’s been our Chief Actuary since 2004, and was promoted to VP of Medical Economics in 2006. He and his contracting team are primarily responsible for our contracts and relationships with our network hospitals.

Michael Jordan

Senior Vice President of Sales and Account Management

Michael came on our team in March 2008 taking on the role of VP of Sales, Account Management and Marketing. His primary responsibilities are driving new business growth, overall retention of existing business, and leading the sales team.

Robert Post

Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives

Bob joined MagnaCare in 2004 and has held a number of positions in Sales, Account Management and Marketing. In his current role, he is responsible for developing MagnaCare’s strategic plan, including the development and execution of product, communication, and marketing strategies and tactics.

Craig B. Greenfield

Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer

Craig’s been here since April of 2000 directs our Law Department. He makes sure that we’ve got all of our ducks in a row, in the legal sense.

Derek Moore

Vice President of Business Development

Derek joined our team in April 2008, and is our VP of Business Development. He is responsible for strategic partnerships and new business creation.
